Shooting at golden hour always looks very cinematic and gives a larger than life feel to your images. However, it is not without it's challenges. The window of time to get the best quality of light is quite small. Additionally the light is changing so fast that continuity can become a real problem.
For this scene in "Yours Truly" we knew we had to block, rehearse, and get ready for when the light was just right. Working fast with a solid crew was essential to the success of the shoot. From our location scout we knew the light would stream in beautifully through the trees. It always feels good when you can harness natural light to make amazing images.
